The MCM Arts District Committee has begun planning for our association’s 13th annual fall art hop, WHITE LIGHT NIGHT. This hugely successful and fun-filled evening brings thousands of art lovers into our business area and, as a member, affords you the opportunity to increase your visibility and sales to the public.
The purpose of our art hop is tri-fold. First, we want to bring people into our shopping district. Secondly, we want them to find their way to your business and, thirdly, we want them to become repeat customers. As White Light Night has become the Baton Rouge tradition to kick off the Christmas shopping season, this is an opportunity to introduce your business to a brand new audience, while continuing to secure the one we already enjoy. Here are the details:
DATE: Friday, November 19, 2010
TIME: 6 p.m. until 10 p.m.
COST: $325 (payment can be made in two checks of $162.50 each, handed
in at the same time and dated Sept 8 & Oct 1—call if you need a
different payment plan) Checks made to Mid City Merchants.
DEADLINE: Oct. 1 (in order to insure inclusion in all publicity)
What else do you have to do? Book one or more artists who agree to be on-site on November 19 to show their original art. Provide refreshments for the public. We are also asking that you decorate the outside roofline of your business in white lights since it is the theme of the event.
An informational and planning outline is available to help plan your event and let you know where publicity is likely to appear. If you want to participate but need help finding an artist, we can help you.
Please deliver or mail your check(s) to 680 Jefferson Hwy, bring to planning meeting by Sept. 14 or your check can be picked up by calling 924-6437.
Art hop meetings will be held on the following Tuesdays at 8:30 a.m., at Brew Ha Ha coffee shop, 711 Jefferson Hwy: August 17, Sept. 14, Oct. 5, Oct. 26 (printed materials ready). Each participating business needs to work on a committee. This is YOUR event and therefore we need YOUR help to make it successful.
